The OOWC has launched its official poster

The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC), which will take place on June 26, 27 and 28, 2024 in the auditorium of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Madrid, already has an official poster to celebrate its first edition.

Since the deadline for submitting entries opened on June 15 and closed on September 15, the competition has received a total of 20 proposals from graphic design and communication professionals, all of them of a high level, which has made the jury's final decision very difficult.

The selection of the winner was made by the OOWC Organizing Committee, who finally appointed Iñaki Salas, designer and illustrator, winner of this contest endowed with a prize of 1.000 euros and the opportunity to design the labeling of the official OOWC olive oil bottle.

With his proposal, Iñaki wanted to reflect the identity of the OOWC: an international, dynamic and modern congress. To do this, he has left behind the typical images of fields, oil mills and still lifes, to capture in the poster an explosion of flavor, culture and smells.

As the artist explained, "when I was a child, my father worked in an olive export company (EXPORSEVILLA, no longer exists) and whenever I saw those horrible packaging (then I did not know it was called that way) I thought that someday I could do this kind of work. And after 20 years, I have managed to create some of them, even for Italian companies. Olive oil is something that has been with me since I was born, and that's why whenever I have the opportunity to create something related to it, I jump in without thinking about it".
