Countdown to OOWC 2026: last chance to register with a discount

The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC), which will be held on July 2–3, 2026 at the Belém Cultural Center in Lisbon, is moving into its decisive phase: the early registration discount expires on March 31, starting the final countdown to attend one of the most influential global gatherings in the olive oil industry.

Individuals, companies, and public or private institutions interested can now complete their registration through the various available options, tailored to professional, scientific, and corporate profiles. The deadline to benefit from the discount is about to expire, making this the right time to secure participation under preferential conditions and become part of the future of olive oil.

The congress will feature a high-level program bringing together international experts and addressing the sector’s main challenges. In this context, the roundtable “Latest advances in VOO sensory analysis” stands out as a key session to understand the evolution of sensory analysis of extra virgin olive oil—an essential element for ensuring quality, differentiation, and consumer trust.

Sensory analysis has become a strategic tool both for commercial classification and for enhancing product value in increasingly demanding markets. This roundtable will present the latest methodological advances, as well as the challenges of harmonizing criteria among panels and its role in a constantly evolving regulatory and competitive environment.

Participants in the panel will include Plácido Pascual (Regional Government of Andalusia), Susana Mattar (Cujo University), Asma Ben Maimoun (Ministry of Morocco), Ana Carrilho (University of Lisbon), Efi Christopoulou (EU–IOC panel), and Tullia Gallina Toschi (University of Bologna), offering an international and multidisciplinary perspective on one of the sector’s key pillars.

Alongside these strategic sessions, the program will include presentations on market trends, health, sustainability, and innovation, featuring leading international figures. All of this makes the OOWC a key platform for knowledge exchange, global networking, and the creation of new business opportunities in the olive oil sector.

The Congress already has institutional support from the International Olive Council (IOC), CIHEAM, and the Mediterranean Diet Foundation, as well as public entities such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain (Foods of Spain), the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture and the Sea, the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha (“Campo y Alma”), the Government of Catalonia, and IMIDRA.

In the private sector, this second edition is currently supported—alongside Olivum—by entities such as AgroBank, GEA Group, Kubota, Feria de Zaragoza (ENOMAQ), Dazeite, and Siliker.

The OOWC invites all stakeholders to become part of this collaborative international project, encouraging them to explore cooperation and sponsorship opportunities. Further information is available through the OOWC Technical Secretariat by calling +34 91 721 79 29 or emailing info@oliveoilwc.com.
