GEA's Centre of Excellence for Olive Oil (CEAO) in Úbeda has hosted the closing ceremony of the Training Course on Virgin Olive Oil Production Process organised by the University of Jaén, the Association of Olive Oil Mill Masters (AEMODA) and GEA Iberia.
The students of this course have visited in their last class the facilities of the multinational in Úbeda, where Francisco Plaza, responsible for the application of olive oil in GEA Iberia, has trained the participants in process, operation and maintenance of the technology for olive oil mills of GEA. The attendees, of Spanish and Portuguese nationality, were accompanied by the course director, Manuel Moya Vilar, professor of the Chemical Engineering Area of the Department of Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering of the University of Jaén.
Plaza has assured that GEA is very pleased to collaborate once again in the organisation of this course that trains professionals in the olive sector so that they can obtain olive oil of the highest possible quality. ‘Once again we have united the educational excellence of the University of Jaén, the professional vision of GEA and AEMODA and the practical experience of professionals from leading firms in the olive oil sector’, he pointed out.
The activity has had the participation of prestigious professors such as Manuel Caravaca (AEMODA), Fernando Martínez (Institute of Fat of the CSIC), José María Penco (AEMO), the ex-rector of the UJA Manuel Parras, the international consultant Juan Vilar, or the experts Mª Paz Aguilera, Marino Uceda and José Alba, among others. On behalf of GEA, Francisco Plaza, Juan Manuel Jariego, Antonio López Rodríguez, Francisco Javier Reche, and Aymen Benjaoui participated as speakers.
