The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) has unveiled the official poster for its upcoming edition, to be held on July 2 and 3, 2026, at the Belém Cultural Center in Lisbon. With this graphic piece, the Congress highlights the deep connection between Portugal—especially its capital—and a sector that brings together history, gastronomic excellence, Mediterranean identity, and innovation.
The poster’s image is centered around a large drop of olive oil, a symbol of the essence of both the Congress and the sector itself. Inside the drop appears one of Lisbon’s most recognizable architectural icons: the Belém Tower, a World Heritage Site and emblem of the city’s historical identity.
This visual concept— the city encapsulated in a drop of oil—represents the union of origin, tradition, and modernity. The transparency, golden light, and green hues of the oil evoke quality, purity, and the unique character of the Mediterranean olive grove, while the presence of the monument symbolizes openness to the world, culture, and history—values shared by the olive oil sector and reflected in the Congress’s international projection.
The poster features the slogan “Taste it, enjoy it. It’s olive oil,” a direct invitation to rediscover olive oil not only as a food, but as an identity-bearing product, a symbol of well-being, and a meeting point between science, innovation, and gastronomy.
With this message, the OOWC reinforces its objective of bringing olive oil closer to professionals and consumers, encouraging international dialogue and projecting the sector’s future through a fresh, modern image with global impact.
Lisbon, a Strategic Host for the Second Edition
Following the success of its first edition, the Olive Oil World Congress has chosen Lisbon as the host city for 2026 due to the importance of the sector in Portugal, its historical relevance, its ties to Mediterranean culture, and its growing role in the country’s agri-food industry. The Belém Cultural Center, one of Portugal’s most prestigious cultural venues, will host the scientific, technical, and business sessions of the Congress.
