According to the latest Foreign Trade Bulletin on Olive Oil, published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, between October 2024 and January 2025, Spanish olive oil foreign trade has grown by 15% compared to the same period in the previous campaign. Accumulated exports reached 273,172 tonnes, while imports stood at 87,143 tonnes, resulting in a coverage ratio of 313%.

During this initial third of the campaign, export volumes increased every month, with figures in January significantly exceeding those of the previous campaign as well as the monthly average, which stands at 68,293 tonnes.

Spain exported olive oil to a total of 136 countries during this period. Among these, Italy stands out with a 48% increase in volume—surpassing 89,000 tonnes—due to the country’s low production so far this season.

Exports to Australia also rose by 68%, whereas those to Russia dropped by 40% compared to the same period last year. As of now, 35,000 tonnes have been exported to the United States.

It is worth noting that despite the rise in volume, unit value has declined in the main destination markets. However, no such decrease was recorded in Belgium, the Netherlands, Israel, or Australia. The average unit value currently stands at €745.87 per 100 kilograms.
