Coinciding with World Olive Tree Day, which is celebrated on 26 November worldwide under UNESCO, the Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) is announcing the dates for its second edition, which will take place on 2 and 3 July 2026 at the Belém Cultural Center in Lisbon (Portugal). This international event aims to become the most important gathering of the olive sector at a global level, bringing together producers, researchers, distributors, institutions, and governments to share knowledge, innovation, markets, and sustainability. Those interested in registering can already do so via the following link: https://www.oliveoilworldcongress.com/inscripcion , where they will find the different options available.
In addition, coinciding with OOWC 2026, the Portuguese capital will also host, on those same dates, the annual meetings of the Advisory Committee and the Members of the International Olive Council (IOC), which will further strengthen the international nature of the event and turn Lisbon into the global epicenter for strategic decision-making on the future of the olive sector.
In this context, the Portuguese Government, represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Sea, José Manuel Fernandes, has invited all IOC members to attend OOWC 2026. The announcement was made in Córdoba (Spain), during the 122nd plenary session of this institution and as part of the World Olive Tree Day events, underlining Portugal’s commitment to the olive sector as a driver of agri-food activity and rural development.
To date, the OOWC has the support, for its organization, of institutions such as the International Olive Council (IOC); CIHEAM; the Mediterranean Diet Foundation; and various public and private entities, such as the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, with its Campo y Alma brand; SOM Gastronomia of the Government of Catalonia; the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through “Alimentos de España”; the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture and Sea; and the Madrid Institute for Rural, Agrarian and Food Research and Development (Imidra), as institutional sponsors. In the private sphere, the Congress is supported by AgroBank; GEA; the Spanish Olive Oil Interprofessional Organization; Gallo; and Filippo Berio.
From the OOWC, we invite all companies and institutions interested in being part of this collaborative project to explore the different cooperation and sponsorship options. All the information they may need will be provided through the OOWC Technical Secretariat, by calling +34 91 721 79 29 or by sending an e-mail to info@oliveoilwc.com
