GEA Takes Part in Dcoop's Mill Master Course and in the 'Olive Mill Technician' Course by DOP Montes de Toledo & Eurocaja Rural

GEA is reinforcing its commitment to training olive mill workers and managers by participating in the Mill Master Course in Olive Mills developed by Dcoop, which is being delivered this week at both DCOOP and SCA Nuestra Señora de los Remedios in Antequera. The course has brought together quality technicians, mill masters, millers, and operators—with and without prior experience—focused on producing premium extra virgin olive oils with green fruitiness.

Francisco Plaza, head of the olive oil application at GEA Iberia, shared valuable insights with participants on the phases of the olive oil production process and how to optimize them; the objectives pursued during malaxation; and the keys to centrifugation. Plaza also gave a clear, visual explanation of how each element involved in extra virgin olive oil extraction works.

Plaza expressed gratitude for Dcoop’s trust in GEA to help train the people who will produce its oils. “For us it is both a pleasure and a source of pride that they count on GEA to guide professionals in the olive oil industry in producing premium oil,” he said, adding that GEA’s technology is an ally in this endeavor, as it is designed to optimize the process.

The second-tier cooperative Dcoop offers this course to update its mill workers’ knowledge, conveying the need to produce quality oils and to improve efficiency in their daily work.
