Students from the Master's Degree in Olive Growing and Olive Oil at the University of Jaén visit GEA's cutting-edge technology

GEA's Centre of Excellence for Olive Oil recently welcomed students from the University of Jaén's Master's Degree in Olive Groves, Olive Oil and Health, a course that aims to teach students about the latest advances in oil production equipment and systems. GEA is renowned for being a leader in technology for the production of liquid gold.

Francisco Plaza, head of olive oil applications at GEA, showed the students and teachers participating in the visit around the facilities, sharing his experience and answering the students' questions about the practical application of technology in the sector.

This training day allowed future experts in the olive oil sector to observe and learn about the operation of the equipment and technology that will define the future of olive oil extraction and processing, and how these solutions optimise the production process, guaranteeing maximum quality.

These types of meetings reinforce the connection between the University's academic training and the industrial reality, preparing students to lead innovation in the olive grove and olive oil value chain.

Plaza emphasises that the collaboration with the UJA and the opening of the Centre of Excellence to educational visits are a fundamental part of the company's strategy to promote excellence and innovation in the olive oil industry. ‘GEA seeks to ensure that graduates of the master's programme are equipped not only with theoretical knowledge, but also with a practical understanding of how processing technology can improve efficiency and sustainability in oil mills,’ he emphasises.
