The Olive Oil World Congress (OOWC) continues to strengthen its position as the most ambitious platform for thought and action in the olive oil sector to date. In a decisive step to ensure that international debate is grounded in a solid territorial base, the organization has announced the official incorporation into its Organizing Committee of the following entities: ACOS – Agricultores do Sul, the Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal (CAP), the Olive Oil Interprofessional of Portugal, and APOAC (Associação para a Promoção do Olival e Azeite de Aire e Candeeiros).
This incorporation not only strengthens the governance of the project, but also ensures that Portugal’s vision will be present in all organizational matters related to this initiative, which will bring together the entire global producer sector in Lisbon in July.
The collaboration in this project between Spanish and Portuguese organizations reinforces cooperation between both countries and consolidates the influence of the Iberian axis in global olive oil production.
The event, which will turn the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon into the world capital of olive oil on July 2 and 3, comes at a time of vulnerability and structural change in the agricultural sector. The agri-food sector finds itself at a crossroads marked by climate variability, the need for effective digitalization, and the pressure of increasingly demanding global markets. For this reason, the OOWC positions itself as a high-level decision-making forum where the world’s leading stakeholders will establish the competitiveness criteria that will shape the market in both the short and long term.
The organization emphasizes that the Olive Oil World Congress is the first international movement to coherently bring together all links in the sector’s value chain. The presence in Lisbon of this historic bloc of organizations ensures that the roadmap drawn there will determine future investments, regulations, and consumption trends. Being part of this meeting is therefore a necessity for any organization that aims to maintain its relevance and competitiveness in a globalized environment.
This incorporation symbolizes the maturity of a project that understands that the sector’s strength lies in unity. By connecting scientific excellence, industrial capacity, and territorial sustainability, the Olive Oil World Congress stands as the major meeting point where the model of olive cultivation for the 21st century will be decided. Those who ignore this transformation process risk being left behind in the face of a new productive paradigm that has already begun to take shape and which will have its official and irreversible starting point at this congress.
All individuals, companies, or public or private institutions in the olive oil sector interested in participating in this Congress can register through the following link: https://www.oliveoilworldcongress.com/inscription
The Congress already has the institutional support of the International Olive Council (IOC), CIHEAM Zaragoza, and the Mediterranean Diet Foundation, along with public entities such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Spain), the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Affairs of Portugal, the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha (“Campo y Alma”), the Government of Catalonia, and IMIDRA.
In the private sector, this second edition is currently supported by Olivum, as well as entities such as AgroBank, the Spanish Olive Oil Interprofessional, GEA Group, APOAC (Associação para a Promoção do Olival e Azeite de Aire e Candeeiros), Adsaica (Associação de Desenvolvimento das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros), Feria de Zaragoza (ENOMAQ), Kubota, Dazeite, and Siliker.
